8AM TO 4PM
Project #1 Face Masks
Make FACE MASKS and bring to the United Way of Wayne County Office (2803 Cashwell Dr. Suite B) on June 18 from 8 AM TO 4 PM.
NEED A PATTERN? HERE ARE THE ONES THE CDC RECOMMENDS CLICK HERE.
We are currently collecting for Partnership for Children, Wayne UNC Healthcare, and the Community Soup Kitchen. Other organizations will be added as requested. Please drop your donations off June 18th between 8 AM-4 PM at 2803 Cashwell Drive Suite B.
Project #2 Personal Hygiene Kits
Plastic storage boxes, shoe boxes, and extra-large ziplock bags make great containers for building your personal hygiene kit. Items that you can include in your kit are:
Bar of Soap, washcloth, toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, shaving cream, razor, anti-bacterial wipes, bandaids, flashlights, personal feminine products, lip balm, lotions, hand sanitizer, etc.. When you finish the kits drop them off on June 18 between 8 AM and 4 PM at the United Way of Wayne County Office 2803 Cashwell Dr. Suite B.
Project #3 Senior Buddy
Make a commitment to become a pen pal and write to a senior citizen every week, and/or give them a phone call. Participating in this project means you pledge to connect with your senior buddy on a weekly basis, either by mail, email, or phone calls. Seniors may experience loneliness and that loneliness can be intensified by the pandemic. Communication with our seniors on a regular basis can combat loneliness and help seniors feel valued. Contact United Way of Wayne County for a program application starting in June.
Project #4 FOOD DRIVE
Our Community Food Pantries need our help. Since COVID-19 hit our community, the demand for help with food has more than doubled. The UW Disaster Relief Fund has helped provide 5,772+ meals over the usual meals requested.
We need our help to restock the pantries. We will be taking donations for Food on June 18 from 8 AM to 4 PM at Wayne County Public Library on Ash Street.
