Xzavier moved here from New York when he was 12 years old to live with his Grandmother. Wanting to make some friends he asked his grandmother if he could go to the Boys and Girls Club. Xzavier not only found friends but also a safe place for afterschool activities and mentors to show him the way to make positive decisions.
Xzavier Carlton had his goals and future plans mapped out since his freshman year of high school. He always had in mind what he wanted to accomplish during his high school years. Xzavier stepped up and became a leader in our Club, taking on the role of a president position for our Keystone leadership program. Xzavier was groomed to become a successful leader during his senior year and beyond. He focused on volunteering throughout his surrounding communities and assisted with community clean-ups, volunteering at the local soup kitchen as well as singing the national anthem at our club events.
Xzavier attends our club on a regular basis and participates in all, if not most of our provided programs. The programs he participates in are our Keystone Club, Aim for Success, Money Matters, Street SMARTS, Healthy habits, and he also assists in helping the younger members with their homework during Power hour. Xzavier enrolled and was accepted into the Army after he graduates. He believes the Boys & Girls Club has helped him mature and groomed him for his future responsibilities.
